The Santa Sofia Academy Chamber Orchestra and Andrea Griminelli’s flute approach the work of two giants of soundtracks such as Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone with a spirit as free as possible from canonical frills, to celebrate the innate ability to to make music and images that have made the history of Italian cinema of all time, throughout the world, go hand in hand. Concerto for strings Rota Suite: Amarcord, 8 and a half, La dolce vita, La Strada, The Godfather; Western Suite: Once upon a time in the west, Down with your head, The good, the bad and the ugly, Mission, Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, Once upon a time in America: songs that refer to films, films closely linked to these melodies, a one-to-one relationship that never breaks in which one expressive register would be hopelessly crippled without the other, damned incomplete, simply no longer the same inimitable masterpiece.
