Inspired by the real story of an East Germany-born young dancer who moved to Paris in 1993, On the Nature of Rabbits by Swedish dancer and choreographer Pontus Lidberg investigates “the relationship between childhood keepsakes and the nuances of desire. The presence of a felt rabbit is the vehicle for unexpressed nostalgia and desire. In a series of dream sequences, the piece contemplates the persistence of childhood attachment, the delicate balance between reality and imagination, and the complexity of desire and relationships.”
