Since childhood, Mark Lewis has been the victim of bizarre experiments by his father, a scientist, who wants to study and record the effects of fear on the nervous system. As an adult, after all his relatives have died, Mark works at a London film studio. At the same time he cultivates a terrifying hobby: he loves to kill women while filming them with a camera to capture their expressions of terror before they die. One evening Mark meets and befriends a girl, Helen Stephens, who rents a room in his house. Will Helen be able to redeem Mark, or will she simply be another of his victims?
