Having been part of the cast of Lasse Hallström’s 2005 Casanova, alongside the much-missed Heath Ledger, Venetian actor and director Alessandro Bressanello once again engages with the legendary figure of the libertine.
In this performance created specifically for the Carnival, Bressanello embodies an aging, weary Casanova who nostalgically recalls his amorous escapades. His reminiscences are intertwined with the voices of La Stagione Armonica, a fourteen-member vocal ensemble conducted by Paolo Faldi, performing an exquisite selection of period madrigals dedicated to love. Enhancing the storytelling, the evocative sound of Domenico Cerasani’s lute creates a unique encounter between theater and music.
