Mestre is at the center of music, with protagonists of the national and international scene choosing the city and Teatro Toniolo to present their new artistic productions. This is demonstrated in the case of Raphael Gualazzi, who on November 3 chose Teatro Toniolo as a stop on his new Dreams Tour, produced and organized by Baobab Music and Ethics, to present his new album Dreams, released in early October by CAM Sugar, the prestigious label that has made soundtracks its beating heart.
Dreams consists of twelve previously unreleased tracks in Italian and English. Classical music, African funk rhythms (with tendencies ranging from Funkadelic to Parliament and Sly and the Family Stone), drum&bass sounds, new soul harmonies, jazz influences from Errol Garner, Thelonious Monk and Coleman Hawkins, hints of electronic music, 70s-80s soul and R&B to disco atmospheres come together in a mix of compositions peppered with analog synthesizers, vintage keyboards, tribal percussion and old-school soul vocal colors.
