Rosalinda Conti studied with Dacia Maraini, Lucia Calamaro, Chiara Lagani, and Marco Martinelli, and graduated in Drama and Screenwriting at a prime drama academy in Italy. Her work has been noted at festivals, and she authored several novels. The show that earned her the 2023 Biennale College Award, Così erano le cose appena nata la luce (lit. ‘Thus stood things as light came into being’) will be read on June 26 and 27 at the Arsenale. Four characters, four letters (M, O, T, and H), represent four individuals and, at the same time, all of mankind as it stands passively before its own demise. What would happen if human beings just disappeared? “Nobody actually ceases to exists, dies, or disappears – even though it may seem that way – instead, everything evolves and simplifies.”
