Georges Bizet never wanted to be a performer, even though he had the ability. Instead, he chose to put his instrumentalist skills to use for the Société nationale de musique, established in 1871 to give visibility to the budding generation of musicians. At their concerts, Bizet played four-hands or in dual piano configuration pieces by Massenet, Saint-Saëns, Guiraud, and Lalo. Roberto Prosseda will help us understand this musical season in a solo piano concert.
