Bollani’s piano and Gurtu’s percussion meet in a musical dialogue that promises to give the audience a memorable experience, full of emotion and surprises. It happens at the Teatro Goldoni in Venice, on 25 June 2025 (starting at 9 pm), for the opening of the 17th edition of the Venezia Jazz Festival, organised by Veneto Jazz in collaboration with the Teatro Stabile del Veneto. The magic between the two stems from their ability to range between the most diverse genres and mix them in a personal and distinctive way, blending virtuosity and improvisation. Stefano Bollani is a musician with a multifaceted talent, capable of dealing with music as with an ever-evolving game, reinventing it each time with cues that draw from the past and present, from different eras and styles. Trilok Gurtu is one of the greatest innovators in the field of percussion, famous for his original language that combines Indian tradition with Western technique. Music as a huge game to be re-invented again and again, alone or with the most diverse partners.
