Devoted to friendship between France and Italy, the Alliance Française di Venezia is a French language and culture association that offers French and Italian courses in Venice, in the Rialto area (Casino Venier, San Marco 4939) and from March 2023 at the Centro Culturale Candiani in Mestre (P.le Luigi Candiani, 7). The association organises various cultural events in collaboration with numerous Venetian institutions. Robert Piencikowski, curator of important collections at the Paul Sacher Stiftung in Basel and for more than a decade a lecturer at the IRCAM in Paris, will be the speaker at a conference with live music provided by the Extra Harmonie Quartet that will offer an original look at the relationship between Stravinsky and Venice and the particular historical circumstances that led to the composer’s burial at the San Michele cemetery in Venice.
