As part of the exhibition Ugo Carmeni. Venice Mapping Time, curated by Daniela Ferretti with Dario Dalla Lana, the Palazzo Grimani Museum is hosting a two-act contemporary music performance featuring Federico Poni (Transmutatio Aquarum, Sublimatio Numeri) and Alessandro Gambato (Love Me Radically). Federico Poni’s contribution starts from the city of Venice and its relationship with water, employing data on the heights reached by the tide, which will be translated into sound and lighting effects. Alessandro Gambato’s piece is a solo performance and, in the artist’s words, “an autobiographical reflection on emotional addictions.” The performance is conducted on a DIY multichannel sound system, composed of salvaged speakers on which the musician acts in different ways: from immersive spatialization to physical interventions on the speakers, with the help of “resonant” objects such as tambourines, pottery, coins, rattles.
