Flanked by the Arrigoni String Academy, the Naonis Music Academy, and the Pordenone Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Valter Sivilotti, Ute Lemper takes us on an exciting journey through the history of music, entitled From Berlin to Broadway, offering some of the greatest classics from Weill to Brecht, from Marlene Dietrich to Gershwin, from Edifice Piaf to the greatest American musicals. The German artist’s career is studded with extraordinary collaborations, including Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Nick Cave, and Philip Glass, who wrote songs for her voice, as well as Maurice Bejart, who designed and choreographed a ballet especially for her. She also participated in the Sanremo Music Festival with a song written by Enzo Jannacci: “The Photograph”. She has graced the stages of the most important theaters (La Scala in Milan, the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the Sydney Opera House, the Berliner Ensemble, the Barbican Centre and the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Lincoln Center in New York, and more) and has performed with some of the world’s most prestigious symphony orchestras. Always seeking new inspiration (recent projects dedicated to various international literary authors include), she remains unparalleled in her interpretations, ranging from raw and passionate emotion to the poignant atmospheres of cabaret and turn-of-the-century song.
