From March 28 to 31, the Amerigo Vespucci will stop in Venice as part of the “Vespucci Mediterranean Tour.” The lagoon city is the second stop on the tour, which will pass through 17 cities before concluding in Genoa on June 10 for Italian Navy Day. Known as “the most beautiful ship in the world,” the iconic sailing vessel of the Italian Navy is not only a symbol of maritime tradition but also an ambassador of Made in Italy excellence and naval culture worldwide. During its stay in Venice, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the ship for free, as well as explore the “Villaggio IN Italia,” a space dedicated to showcasing Italian excellence in culture, science, innovation, and gastronomy, with a food area curated by Eataly. Additionally, the Italian Navy Arsenal will host “Open Days,” offering a rare chance to visit one of the city’s most historically significant maritime sites.

The event will welcome civil and military authorities and feature a series of activities, including official ceremonies, concerts, conferences, and educational programs for young people. Among the highlights are the reopening of the Italian Navy’s Naval History Museum and Ships Pavilion, as well as a major photography exhibition focusing on navigation and the sea’s impact on our lives. Making the Vespucci’s visit to Venice even more special, on Sunday, March 30 (11 AM), local Venetian boats—including those from the Francesco Morosini Naval School, rowing clubs, and vela al terzo sailboats—will take part in a traditional salute. After Venice, the Amerigo Vespucci will set sail for Ancona, continuing its journey along the Mediterranean coast.

The ship will be open to the public with free reservations.
