To close The Italian Glass Weeks here is a concert by the Vocal Skyline choir directed by master Marco Toso Borella, multifaceted Murano glass artist, founder and director of the two most famous choral ensembles in the Venetian territory: the young and talented voices of the Vocal Skyline who, together with the Big Vocal Orchestra, they make up the largest vocal orchestra in Italy with a staff of over 250 people. The Vocal Skyline will explore, in a surprising journey through different musical genres, all the variegated shades of the art of glass in a concert-show capable of involving all the senses, ranging through contemporary pop music passing through the classic spirituals and gospel, touching some famous musicals, film soundtracks and masterpieces by well-known pop-rock bands from the 70s and 80s, to explore musical universes from other eras and continents, with a special tribute to the city of Venice. The artistic proposal of the Vocal Skyline is unique in its kind and will be enriched for the occasion by the extraordinary participation of the voices of the Big Vocal Orchestra who will intervene from the third and fourth order of the Theater, embodying a contemporary version of the ancient Venetian tradition of “flying choirs” . The choristers also alternate the performances with theatrical readings of some texts that introduce and accompany the understanding of the pieces, according to the fil rouge of glass.
