After the success of the first edition, the cycle of meetings and visions “Carta Bianca. Oral and visual histories of film festivals”. Curated by Marco Dalla Gassa (Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia) and Carmelo Marabello (Università IUAV Venezia – VIU Venice International University), in synergy with the Circuito Cinema del Comune di Venezia and with the patronage of the Consulta Universitaria Cinema, the AFIC – Associazione dei Festival Italiani di Cinema and the Veneto Film Commission, the cycle opens with the artistic director of the Berlin International Film Festival Carlo Chatrian in dialogue with Marco Dalla Gassa and Carmelo Marabello. This will be followed by the screening of the film I’m Your Man by Maria Schrader, in competition at the Berlinale 2021, which was awarded the Silver Bear for best performance in a leading role to actress Maren Eggert. Each meeting, which takes place in the pre-evening hours at the Multisala Rossini in Venice, will include not only a debate moderated by lecturers and film critics, but also the screening of a film chosen by the invited guest from among those that best tell the story of the festival in question and its ideas on film curatorship.
