The Wyoming Ambassadors of Music choir brings to the Chiesa della Pietà in Venice the great American musical tradition and the sounds of its marvellous territory, famous for its boundless plains, the Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone National Park, with its spectacular canyons and breathtaking views.
The choir is made up of the most talented music students in the entire American state: the singers are specially selected every two years to perform in the European tour, which this year will bring not only the choir but also 110 musicians to Italy and Austria. An extraordinary training programme that over the last decade has given more than 3000 young musicians from the “Cowboy State” the opportunity to perform on our continent, getting to know European art and architecture, and making new friends.
Conducted by Katrina Rooney, the 24 young singers will offer the Venetian audience a wide-ranging programme that includes pieces by T. Tallis, L. Grossi da Viadana, A. Lorri, B. Tate, J. Rickard, F. Mendelssohn, M. Duruflé, and J. S. Bach.
