As part of Denied Horizons (Orizzonti Negati) – the exhibition project through which EMERGENCY Venice reflects on migration and its pressing urgencies –, the venue presents APOLIDE. Abitare il mondo (Inhabiting the World), a sculptural project by Giovanni and Marcello Chiarenza. At the core of the exhibition is an archetypal walking figure carrying a house-suitcase: a portable cosmos symbolizing memory, dignity, and precariousness. The journey unfolds across three symbolic stages – Apolide, Nostalgia, and Home Sweet Home – moving from loss to the search for a new balance, enriched by an animated video that transforms the physical journey into a poetic and inner exploration. A project that questions the deep meaning of home and collective responsibility.
