A retrospective dedicated to the sculptural practice of artist Barry X Ball (b. 1955, Pasadena, California, living and working in New York). Through a bold, innovative approach he reinterprets Andrea Palladio’s architectural masterpiece, the Abbey of San Giorgio Maggiore, blending advanced digital technologies with traditional craftsmanship. New materials and renewed forms reinterpret the Abbey’s Renaissance masterpieces: 23 pieces from five distinct series redefine the boundaries of contemporary sculpture while reaffirming the relationship between art, heritage and spirituality.
