Hosted in the Sala delle Quattro Porte at the Museo Correr, Principe. Il Nottambulo del Pensiero Magmatico, curated by Chiara Squarcina and Bruno Corà , brings together a selection of works by Bizhan Bassiri, placing recent productions in dialogue with key pieces from his earlier practice.
The exhibition unfolds in close relation to the museum space, engaging with its historical and architectural qualities. At its core stands the figure of the Prince – the artist’s alter ego – welcoming visitors and introducing an ideal genealogy composed of ninety images of artists, from the masters of the fifteenth century to the present. The display takes the form of an encompassing gallery: works are arranged in a suspended, ascending progression along the walls, creating a vertical rhythm reinforced by the bronze Meteorite. This upward movement is counterbalanced by a horizontal dimension embodied by the Fratino and the Serpi, which invite a moment of contemplation and a different spatial awareness.
While maintaining a solemn structural presence, the installation allows for a fluid and open experience, attuned to the city’s atmosphere and to the careful preservation of the works on view.
