An exhibition and a homage. At Palazzo Grimani, two-part exhibition A Cabinet of Wonders, comprises a first part that is specifically designed after the sixteenth- and seventeenth-century cabinets of wonders, collections of curiosities, exceptional art, natural items, artefacts coming from prominent national and international cultural institutions. The second part is an art installation composed of unique pieces from the George Loudon collection. Loudon was a nineteenth-century collector of natural findings who started off as an art collector, later integrating his endowment with pieces that capture, at once, aesthetical beauty and scientific wonder. Every single piece emerges from the shadow and rises to its status of pure art object.
