Chanvipava’s autobiographical works weave captivating correspondences between the microcosm of her personal life and the macrocosm of politics and global events, serving as expressions of universal emotions and shared experiences. The paintings in The Sound of Many Waters explore notions of belonging and identity, along with intimate themes such as surrogacy and LGBTQ+ rights.
The work is displayed on large panels of stainless steel that shine and reflect like water, a visual nod to the title of the exhibition.
