Artist, sculptor, and designer Gianmaria Potenza opened his shop in the 1950s in the heart of Venice. His technique draws on Venetian tradition reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The thirty pieces on display open a connection between his Gli Elaboratori series and a selection of more recent works. In Gli Elaboratori , each element – small wooden cubes and cylinders – is modeled, smoothed, and assembled into a construction where repetition is made a structural tenet, marking the development of the composition and making the dialectic between structural order and material tactility a focal point of the artist’s research.
