A previously unexplored creative dialogue: Arthur Jafa (b. 1960) and Richard Prince (b. 1949). Born ten years apart, the two artists share a radical approach to the appropriation and manipulation of images from American popular culture. Both trace specific topographies of the United States: while Jafa reflects on his identity as an African-American man with a mission to strengthen Black cinema and art, Prince oscillates between a lucid critique of white masculinity and a fascination with the dark side of the American psyche.
