Conceived as a retrospective, the exhibition offers an insight into Ioan Sbârciu’s visionary work and large painted sceneries. Neither figurative nor thoroughly abstract, the artist’s monumental landscapes confront the main issues of our present such as the Earth destiny and the urgent need to recreate our relationship with Nature. Mystery and matter arise from a burst of poetic illumination, from an explosion of colours spreading masterfully over the large canvas surface.
