Jaume Plensa takes inspiration from the two-faced Roman god Janus to create a site-specific installation that occupies the Church of San Gallo, a small jewel from the late 16th century.
“It’s not the work itself that matters,” says the artist, “but what it generates around it in the space.” The force of attraction of Plensa’s installation creates a unique, harmonious space and the exhibition, curated by Adriano Berengo, presents new works in alabaster and glass-sculptures in which the artist allows the viewer’s gaze to see beyond their materiality and grasp their soul.
