Collecting art is a passion that can grow into one’s pro- fession, as has been the case with Alessandro Zoppi. Thirty years since the opening of his first gallery near San Marco, later moved to Campo San Maurizio, Zoppi recently opened a new space near Santo Stefano. For the Venice Glass Week, Zoppi opened a new space in Calle delle Botteghe 3449/C, to house a ‘special selection’ of glass art and design pieces from the 1800s to the 1980s.
Alessandro Zoppi is friends with the last great glass artists of the 1900s, and many of these pieces have been created under his very eyes during his visits in the several glass furnaces in Murano.
