A true journey into the most representative works of the artist, a major figure of the 20th century, a master and poet of color, a painter of fantasy and dreams, capable of conveying great emotions through his works. Starting with the masterpiece preserved in the collections of Ca’ Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art, titled Rabbino n. 2 or Rabbino di Vitebsk, 1914-1922, acquired by the Municipality of Venice at the 1928 Biennale, the exhibition aims to investigate the revolutionary impact of Chagall’s art as a painting of dreams and a triumph of creative fantasy. Curated by Elisabetta Barisoni, the exhibition is designed with the masterpieces held at Ca’ Pesaro, alongside significant and precise works by Chagall from prestigious international collections in each of the six sections. Thanks to loans from the Albertina in Vienna, the Musée National Marc Chagall in Nice, the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Chagall becomes a common thread that connects works and artists who have felt a kinship in terms of their own production or who have drawn inspiration from him to develop their art in various directions.
