MAURIZIO PELLEGRIN. THE LOST PORTRAITS 1990-2025

A Venetian now living in New York, Maurizio Pellegrin is a visual storyteller who uses “relics of humanity” to create unique portraits. These are portraits that emerge through absence: the absence of a subject the artist renders unnecessary, replacing them with a series of objects – a sort of reliquary taken from the past and charged with new energy. For Pellegrin, each work thus becomes an opportunity to develop understanding and maintain a subtle balance between spirit and matter.
