The first Italian solo exhibition of British artist Nigel Cooke, who from next spring will be in residence at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia. Deeply rooted in the history of painting, Cooke plays a key role in the development of British contemporary art and belongs to the tradition of artists who have found a source of creative inspiration in Venice. Through his abstract markings, his work traces continuous patterns in which past and present and personal and collective are reflected and intertwined, suspended in a delicate and vibrant uncertainty.
