Silvano Rubino presents Progetto Kafka. La scrittura e il segno (lit. Project Kafka. Writing and the Sign), curated by Luca Berta and Francesca Giubilei – Venice Art Factory, in collaboration with Fondation Valmont. On the occasion of the centenary of Kafka’s death (June 3, 1924), the Venetian artist revisits the work he created in 1993, delving into the exploration of the meaning of writing. During this process of analysis, which at the time was inspired by a fragment from The Castle and continues today in the words chosen by Rubino for his works (short poetic texts, enigmatic neon phrases, reciting voices…), the desire to desacralize writing and its meaningful value emerges. This involves reducing every word to the state of an empty sign that communicates nothing but itself.
