A seminal figure of the Surrealist movement and mentor to several exponents of Abstract Expressionism, Roberto Sebastián Antonio Matta Echaurren (1911-2002) is considered one of the most interesting artists of the 20th century on the basis of work which included both art and design. Drawing inspiration from two extraordinary masterpieces by the artist housed at Ca’ Pesaro, the exhibition aims to illustrate his abilities as a painter, as well as the scope of his work and thought.
