Blazes’ works evoke the image of diving into a cold lake to explore what lies beneath the surface. The underwater scenes of Lake Ohrid, where the artist resides, become a mystical place, compared to the self and one’s deepest emotions. “Diving to the bottom” becomes a metaphor for inner exploration, a journey that leads to the discovery of “voracious forms” and silhouettes emerging from the depths, inhabitants of an inverted world. These mysterious creatures, like white shadows immersed in a geometric universe, reflect the fragility and duality between what appears and what remains hidden.
