Osaru Obaseki (1993) delves into the realm of materiality, history, cultural identity, social dynamics and the complexities of colonial and postcolonial narratives. The Nigerian artist’s highly original approach involves blending sand, acrylics, bronze and now also glass into innovative contemporary forms. The exhibition features a series of pieces created during her stay in Venice, in particular several splendid glass sculptures crafted in collaboration with the Berengo Foundation in the Murano glass furnace.
