On the occasion of the seven hundredth anniversary of the death of Marco Polo, Palazzo Ducale opens the Doge’s apartment to host an exhibition paying tribute to the Venetian merchant, with the desire to share the suggestions recalled by him in Il Milione (The Million). Curated by Chiara Squarcina, Giovanni Curatola, with the collaboration of Marco Guglielminotti Trivel, the exhibition has been conceived as a journey that retraces the real or invented encounters in the countries visited by the Polos over more than twenty years of travels, through 300 works from the important and rich Venetian civic collections, prestigious Italian and European institutions, and museums as far away as Armenia, China, and Qatar.
