Next to the Redentore Basilica and the recently restored Orto-Giardino, Galleria 200 C Giudecca opens as a dynamic and inclusive space for artistic research and experimentation, conceived by Olga Strada. Its inaugural exhibition, L’Orto dell’Angelo by Valentina Mir, a Sicilian artist based in Paris, features eleven papiers collés inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poem Hope is the thing with feathers and by the concept of “Hortus conclusus” as “happy entropy.” Not angels but the places they reveal are at the center – an invitation to explore the soul’s inner labyrinths. Through cutouts from books and magazines, Mir creates her “miramorphosis,” reassembling familiar images into a new cosmos.
