VENEZIA BIANCA

Snowflakes fall slowly on the fields and canals, reflecting a soft light from the winter sun. Moored gondolas are draped in blankets of white snow, much like the roofs of buildings and bridges that become magical snow-covered walkways. The city’s silence is only broken by the gentle sound of footsteps on the snowy ground, while the Grand Canal transforms into a silver strip amidst ancient architectures. It’s a suspended moment in time where the beauty of Venice merges with the delicacy of the snow, creating an unforgettable scenery. In this context, the Wilmotte Foundation, in collaboration with the Club Fotografico La Gondola and the Archive of the Querini Stampalia Foundation through the Luigi Ferrigno collection, presents the exhibition Venezia bianca (lit. White Venice) in the spaces of its Gallery.

The forty-nine photographs by Marino Bastianello, Roberto Capuis, Libero Dell’Agnese, Sergio Del Pero, Luigi “Gigi” Ferrigno, Gaetano Gabbia, Giorgio Giacobbi, Manfredi Manfroi, Laura Martinelli, Sergio Moro, Gino Residori, Fulvio Roiter, Bruno Rosso, Luciano Scattola, Toni Schena represent an ode to the eternal and ever-changing beauty of this city, a testimony to its resilient spirit in the face of the challenges of nature.
