“It’s cold. The Arctic summer is, nonetheless, a peculiar, “empirical” summer, and this cold is perhaps in the bones or maybe in the soul: the experience of disaster that becomes mine after many years spent in this “world within the world.” The ice is melting ever more rapidly, just as the water level will rise more and more quickly. But seeking a passage in the ice is still a problem: it’s the art of navigation. It’s necessary to move a bit further south because, at this moment, the ice is truly too thick: there are significant problems, and the right response is often to turn back. It’s necessary to seek a new way. A safer way. A “respectful” way. From now on, my encounters with the public and my discussions will be called “stepping back”: We can no longer behave like noisy and inconvenient tourists with colored hair, headphones on, scribbling on the walls of an ancient but still present civilization. There are no ski lifts to be built for colorful skiers for Sant’Ambrogio holidays. The time for fake television sagas is over.”
