Adam Linder’s Drip Tekhne inhabits a time that does not move in a straight line. Evolution is never complete, never left behind – it remains written in every gesture like a geological layer within the body itself. The animal body does not disappear when the thinking body arrives, but continues to exist beneath it, ready to resurface. This is the thread running through the 20th Biennale Danza directed by Wayne McGregor: different eras coexisting in the same instant, past and present layered within the same skin. The crescendo accelerates phase by phase, without pause, until the boundaries between one body and another dissolve – the community of dancers becomes the final image, the only one left standing.
