di Fabio Marzari

The Global Supper. A collective meditation on humanity, the work of the artist Lilli Muller, German by origin, but based in Los Angeles, in the magnificent cloister of the Church of the Madonna dell’Orto, represents one of the most interesting and impactful installations that can be found in Venice in these months full of art.

A violent attack on democracy, humanity, and freedom demands that every country sit at a table to find practical, useful solutions for peace, sustainability, and safeguard of the planet. Inspired by Tintoretto’s Last Supper, Californian artist Lilli Muller created long lunch tables set for 195 – as many as there are coun- tries in the world. A personalized plate and a glass of red wine, filled in proportion to the country’s GDP, are set at each place.
