The Gallerie dell’Accademia, one of the most important art collections in the world, continues its opening activity to the great contemporary masters with a large retrospective exhibition of the British artist, of Indian origin, Anish Kapoor (Mumbai, 1954).
A large retrospective explores the development of Anish Kapoor’s unique visual language. Kapoor (Mumbai, 1954) is considered one of the most influential contemporary artists. His art creates a visual, dynamic conversation with medieval and renaissance art that is part of the Accademia’s collection. For the first time, new and original art, created using carbon nanotechnology, is included in the exhibition. This new art develops further the language of Kapoor’s earlier sculpture to explore the condition of what the artist refers to as the ‘non-object’.
