Transformed into Hãhãwpuá – a term used by natives to name their pre-colonial territory – the Pavilion hosts a polyphony of ancient artistic practices that trace the history of indigenous resistance in Brazil. The exhibition, titled with reference to “capoeira”, a small bird that camouflages itself in dense forests, invites to reflect on the connection between humans, memory, and nature. Installations, videos, and performances contribute to an immersive and multisensory narrative of the Amazonian environment, dealing as well with themes of marginalization, deterritorialization, and violation of land rights.
