The Louis Vuitton Foundation offers us the opportunity to approach an artist who, with his blurring works – especially his site-specific installations with a strong historical and social relevance to their target locations – has often drawn attention to major contemporary issues. His openly anti-star-system approach and the ephemeral nature of many of his works make Ernest Pignon-Ernest (Nice, 1942) one of the pioneers of street art. The exhibition is curated by Suzanne Pagé and Hans Ulrich Obrist, in dialogue with Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster.
