While at the Giardini Yael Bartana and Ersan Mondtag portray, on the one hand, a scenario of a catastrophic present, and on the other, a narrative in which past ages come back to life, a third part of the German project takes place on Certosa Island, with the participation of a group of artists working in the fields of hydro-acoustics and cybernetic art. The sound installation created by Michael Akstaller, Nicole L’Huillier, Robert Lippok, and Jan St. Werner contrasts with the monumentality of the German Pavilion, emphasizing the idea of passage through a threshold space.
