Human beings are members of a whole / In creation of one essence and soul… These words by Persian poet Saadi Shirazi remind us that all human beings share a common origin beyond any notion of nationality, and that art commands a higher merit of justice and equity because it recognizes the dignity of the individual. The Iranian Pavilion shows how the concept of ‘border’ and ‘foreigner’ are nothing but conventions deprived of any basis by means of visual and virtual art that conveys a message as old as the history of humankind.
