An artist, performer, and writer, Josèfa Ntjam uses the assembly of images, words, sounds, and stories as a method to deconstruct important narratives underlying hegemonic discourses on origin, identity, and race. In the courtyard of the Fine Arts Academy and within the spaces of the Marine Sciences Institute, Ntjam showcases a new myth of creation, shaped by ancient and emerging ways of conceiving the universe. In this imaginary realm, plankton serves as a convergence point between deep ocean and outer space, biological and mythical realms, possible pasts and alternative futures.
