After collecting an archive of scents and fragrances from Korea, artist Koo Jeong A has turned these immaterial memories into seventeen distinct essences to create a sensory portrait of her country. Themes such as immateriality, lightness, and levitation are incorporated into the Pavilion through symbols of infinity engraved on the floor and floating wooden sculptures. At the same time, a bronze figure suspended in mid-air releases the essences in an immersive hug, stimulating an alternative perception and understanding of physical and mental spaces.
