Massimo Bartolini’s itinerary is made of an interplay of emptiness and fullness, movement and pause which leads to unexpected encounters with sonic and performative works and installations. This visual, tactile, and auditory journey intertwines ancient cultural roots shared by diverse peoples despite geographical distances, while also facilitating the rediscovery of extraordinary Italian artistic and craft traditions. The title’s suggestion – “Two here” and “To hear” – hints at the relational nature of sound. The act of listening indeed serves as the common thread throughout this journey across time and space, acting as a catalyst for introspection and self-discovery, and an essential prerequisite for embracing others.
