An artist working on the interpretation of the world, the cosmos, and its relationship with the individual and humanity, Seundja Rhee has coined a creative language free from main modern and contemporary art movements in Korea and France, where she spent more than half of her life. The approximately twenty paintings on display, covering fifty years of her career from 1959 to 2008, offer an overview of the artist’s experimental approach and aesthetic evolution.
