For over thirty years, the Pakistani-American artist Shahzia Sikander has been reworking visual narratives of South Asia from a transnational, feminist, and contemporary perspective. Working with various media – painting, drawing, printmaking, digital animation, mosaic, sculpture, and glass – Sikander reimagines the past for our present.
The exhibition traces the artist’s everevolving explorations around themes such as gender, race, and colonialism through her
characteristic lexicon of forms and peculiar iconography.
