While Eva Koťátková retraces the history of the giraffe Lenka inside the Czechoslovak Pavilion, the artist and activist Oto Hudec chooses to occupy the external area of the building, more suitable for hosting his floating arboretum. The trees painted on the facade and the boat carrying a stone pine cone, a tree native to Slovakia now endangered, give voice to the artist’s commitment to issues such as deforestation, climate change, and sustainability.
