One hundred embroidered works made using the traditional Palestinian technique of tatreez – cross-stitch – bring global attention to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Created by Palestinian women in refugee camps and villages in Lebanon, Jordan and the West Bank, the works depict scenes related to the conflict and life under siege, each composed of 55,000 stitches, for a total of 5.5 million. Organisations and individuals can support the project and see their name embroidered alongside the embroiderers’ names.
